Florida law permits those who have been victimized by violence or the threat of violence at the hands of a family to obtain an injunction. The injunction is a court order requiring the aggressor to stay away from the victim; to stay away from the victim’s home and workplace; to stop communicating the victim. Injunctions are important tools that protect domestic violence victims.
Unfortunately, dishonest people sometimes abuse the court system by making false allegations of domestic violence to obtain an injunction. As a result, the person complained against may be removed from his or her house and cut off from his or her own children.
We represent both Petitioners and Respondents at hearings on domestic violence injunctions.
